Ride In A Hot Air Balloon Over Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe Balloons takes visitors up in a hot air balloon to fly over Lake Tahoe as the sun rises. The most unique part of this experience is that you take off from and land on the deck of a boat in the middle of the lake! 

Visitors must arrive at the Tahoe Keys Marina to board The Tahoe Flyer, which is the only certified hot air balloon launch vessel in the world! Guests then sail out and get to watch the crew inflate the balloon on the deck of the boat. 

Once it’s inflated, it’s time to lift off. You’ll ascend from the boat up to heights of 10,000 feet with incredible views that go on for miles and miles. The pilot and guide will point out notable sights along the one-hour journey. The balloon itself can actually float on the lake for a short period of time! 

When the tour is over, the balloon will hover back down to the water and land on the boat deck. On the way back to the marina, you’ll have complimentary champagne, mimosas, and snacks.

Tours usually take place between May and October. You can book in advance online. Their flights start at $349 per person. The balloon’s basket can fit up to 12 people at a time. The entire process of sailing out, flying, and returning to the marina takes about 4 hours total.
