Hang Gliding Tahoe teaches visitors how to hang glide over Lake Tahoe.

Hang Gliding Tahoe short Montage Winter, Summer, Spring and Fall

Hang Gliding Tahoe allows visitors to hang glide over Lake Tahoe with a certified pilot.

You'll be provided with a flight suit, helmet, and headset so that you'll be able to communicate with FAA-certified flight instructor Paul Hamilton. Hamilton will show you how to fly and go over all of the basics you need to know. You can let him fly the whole time or take over the controls yourself!

After your lesson, you'll get a certificate for your flight time that you can put towards your pilot license.

These flights are available year-round. Fly above the snow-covered mountains or view Emerald Bay from above during the spring and summer.

Choose from a few different hang gliding packages

  • Tahoe View: $250 for a 30-minute flight (this is the only one that doesn't go to the lake)
  • To Tahoe: $330 for an hour flight
  • Around Lake Tahoe: $390 for a 90-minute flight
  • Cross Country: $450 for a 2-hour flight

Flights are typically early in the morning, starting as early as sunrise and taking off no later than 10 am. Everything can be booked online.

You'll take off from the Carson City Airport at the Sterling Air hangar. 2640 E. College Parkway, Carson City, NV 89706. Check here for detailed directions
