1. Visit Donner Memorial State Park and Emigrant Trail Museum
Donner Memorial State Park includes a historic site that honors victims of the fateful Donner Party incident from the 1800s. A group of emigrants was on their way to California, but they fell victim to an extreme snowstorm that changed their lives and made history. Very few of them made it alive, some of them resorting to cannibalism to survive. The museum has more information about this, among other displays.
