Heavenly Mountain’s Annual Gunbarrel 25 Ski Race

Heavenly Mountain hosts its annual Gunbarrel 25 ski race on Saturday, March 26. This event challenges participants to see who can complete Heavenly Mountain’s famous mogul run 25 times and who can do it the fastest. 

The race will start at 10 am. Skiers will have six hours to try and complete 25 runs. 

This is the 18th year that the event has been held. It’s become quite popular among locals and tourists. Spectators are welcome to come out to watch and cheer the skiers on.  

You can register online or on the day of the race. It costs $60 to sign up. Up to 225 competitors are allowed to race. This contest has been known to sell out, so participants claim your spot asap! Skiers packets, which include: a t-shirt, bib number, and ticket for post-race pasta dinner, can be picked up on Friday or the morning of the race.   

Awards will be announced and given out at 5 pm.

The categories include:

• Overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner
• Fastest male skier for each age group (12 and under, 13-17, 18-29, 30-59, and 60+) 
• Fastest female skier for each age group (divided same as men)
• Iron man skier (whoever skied the most laps. Divided into age groups of 17 and under and 18+)
• Iron woman skier
